The flags of the United States and American Samoa are being flown at half-staff beginning Wednesday, August 27, through to August 31, to honor the victims of the tragic shooting Wednesday in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

At least two children were killed and 17 others injured when a gunman opened fire at a Catholic school in Minneapolis — shooting through the windows of a classroom before taking his own life, according to authorities.

A proclamation issued by President Trump ordered that the U.S. flag be flown at half-staff at the White House, and upon all public buildings and grounds, at all military posts and naval stations, and on all naval vessels of the federal government in the District of Columbia, throughout the United States, and its territories and possessions until sunset August 31. This is also being observed at all U.S. embassies, consular offices, and other facilities abroad, including all military facilities and naval vessels and stations.

Governor Pulaalii Nikolao Pula has directed  government departments, agencies, and offices to follow the presidential proclamation, “as we honor the memory of the victims and stand in solidarity with their families and communities during this time of mourning.”
