The Criminal Investigations Division of Public Safety is investigating the theft of a government vehicle from an auto ship at the Industrial Park earlier this month.
The vehicle is an F-150 truck assigned to the Director of the Department of Search and Rescue, with license plate DSR1.
Director Utumoe Alefosio said the vehicle was taken to the auto shop on Friday, August 8.
The following Monday, August 11, the owner of the auto shop informed their department that the vehicle was missing. There had been a break-in over the weekend, and expensive tools and equipment were taken along with the vehicle.
