The Deputy Director of the Department of Parks and Recreation David Godinet has been named as the Acting Director of the department. This follows the House of Representatives’ rejection of Tapusalaia Maneafaiga for the position.
This is the second time since the start of the Pula and Pula administration that Godinet has been appointed as Acting Director of the Department of Parks and Recreation
He served as acting director from March until June after Maneafaiga was turned down by the Senate. Maneafaiga was reappointed for the position in June and his name was resubmitted to the Fono for confirmation. The Senate confirmed him this time around however he did not garner enough votes in the House of Representatives during two confirmation votes.
