The Pala Lagoon Swimming Center (PLSC) is proud to announce the successful completion of its latest lifeguard certification course, held last week. Six dedicated individuals have earned their official lifeguarding credentials, reinforcing PLSC’s commitment to safety and excellence in aquatic services.

Congratulations to Polianna Heather, Zaria Takubala, Zachary Wysopal, Jhen Seguiwan, and Karol “Ben” Bengil for completing the rigorous training and earning their lifeguard certifications. Their achievement marks a significant step in ensuring the safety and enjoyment of all who visit PLSC. The pool staff also celebrates longtime lifeguard Tilali Scanlan, who has renewed her lifeguarding credentials, continuing her legacy of service and leadership at the pool.

Scanlan is proud of her new teammates. “I am very impressed with their commitment to keeping American Samoa water-safe. Being a lifeguard is a prime example of responsibility, courage, and dedication to safety. I look forward to seeing even more local youth gain experience as water safety and aquatic professionals.”

“These individuals represent the next generation of water safety leaders in our community,” said Debbs Cox, PLSC Pool Manager. “We’re proud of their dedication and excited to welcome them to the team.”
