Wrestlers win two more gold medals in Palau

American Samoa’s national anthem was played twice on the third day of competition after our wrestlers won two more gold medals at the Pacific Mini Games in Palau.

Latana Sopa clinched gold in  the Beach Wresting 90 kg, and Amo Loe also captured gold in the Beach Wrestling 90+ kg.

Maea Loe captured a fifth silver medal for American Samoa, taking second place in the Beach Wrestling 90 kg.

Meanwhile, Zelan Falealii added to the bronze medal tally, taking third place in the Beach Wrestling 90 kg.

Total medals after three days of competition: four gold, five silver, and four bronze.

Meanwhile, our women’s softball team triumphed over Guam, 10-3, in their second game in Palau.

Our women’s volleyball team won in three sets against Tahiti, which was the team to beat!  They also beat Nauru in three sets.

Unfortunately, they succumbed to Fiji in their first game in Palau.
