
The American Samoa Samoa Deep Sea Mining Task Force is hosting a Town Hall Meeting on Deep Sea Mining, Wednesday, July 2 at the Lee Auditorium.
Doors open at 4:00PM for informational booths and a documentary screening, followed by presentations at 5:00PM.
The townhall is intended to provide information about the potential benefits and risks of deep sea mining near American Samoa.
It will also gather input for the Bureau of Energy Management’s Request for Information on the proposal for deep sea mining near the territory.
Speakers include Governor Pulaalii Nikolao Pula, Lt Governor Pulumataala Ae Ae Jr. and Sabrina Suluai Mahuka.
The public is encouraged to attend.
