
Tutuila Wind Energy and the American Samoa Power Authority are moving ahead with their wind energy project in Aoloau.
Tutuila Wind Energy is a limited liability company formed by two Japanese companies, Nippon Koie and Renova, which is investing $100 million on a 42-megawatt wind and battery storage farm.
An environmental impact assessment and an archaeological study have been completed, and findings are to be presented at a town hall meeting on August 2, TWE is currently preparing to build a tower at the site to collect more wind data that would help the manufacturer of the wind turbines with the design.
