An application from fuel company Pacific Energy Inc. was on the agenda of the first meeting of the ASG Tax Exemption Board last Friday.

Treasurer Donald Kruse, who is chairman of the board, said the corporation presented their proposal, and the board has asked for reports to review before making a decision on Pacific Energy’s application for tax-exempt status.

The Treasurer added that since this was their first meeting, it also served as an orientation for board members.

Members who attended the initial meeting along with Kruse were Ruth Matagi (Vice chair), Toetasi Tuiteleleapaga (Secretary), and Magdalene Lina Petaia.

The fifth board member, Vaitautolu Iaulualo, sent apologies.

Kruse says the Tax Exemption Board is calling in two or three businesses and nonprofits for this Friday’s meeting to present their applications.
