An inmate who escaped from the Territorial Correctional Facility on June 15, Father’s Day, is still on the run.
Director of the Department of Corrections, Palaita Tusipasi Suiaunoa, said the inmate is Deion White of Nu’uuli, who was serving time for a robbery and assault case from 2021.
KVZK-TV quoted corrections officers saying that the inmate climbed the fence and took off on foot.
Director Suiaunoa said the Department of Public Safety was notified the day White went missing, but as of Thursday, he had not been found.
Police have reportedly spotted the escapee at a restaurant, but he fled before they could apprehend him.
