
Renovation of the ANZ Bank Building in Fagatogo started last week and, once completed, will become the temporary home for the offices of the Governor and Lt. Governor while the A.P. Lutali Executive Office Building in Utulei is under construction.
Director of the Office of Administrative Services Tnaya Mao-Aab said the renovation is being carried out by Craig Construction and is funded under the ARPA allocation of $39.5 million for the renovation of the EOB and relocation of departments and agencies while construction is underway. She said that about $3 million is being spent on the ANZ Bank Building renovation. The project is expected to be completed at the end of July.
The ANZ Bank building was also renovated during the Lemanu and Laapui administration, however, the work was suspended after several months and there was no explanation as to why.
