Governor Pulaalii Nikolao Pula has again appointed Tapusalaia Maneafaiga as Acting Director of the Department of Parks and Recreation.

Maneafaiga was first appointed to head Parks and Recreation in January, and his name was submitted to the Fono for confirmation. On February 3, the Senate rejected his nomination by a vote of 7 in favor and 9 against. He was again appointed as Acting Director of Parks and Recreation before the end of February. However, in a March 20, memo then-Acting Governor Pulumataala Ae Ae Jr., appointed David Godinet as Acting Director of Parks and Recreation “until further notice.”

In that same memo, the Acting Governor said that effective March 17, Tapusalaia was temporarily reassigned to the Governor’s Office.
