The Human Rights Protection Party in Samoa has launched its election manifesto with Deputy Leader announcing the introduction of an annual Cost Of Living Adjustment of $500 tālā for every Samoan to help alleviate the current financial crisis.
“This includes new born babies,” he said as supporters cheered and clapped.
He said the promised COLA will be paid out every year for five years if they are voted back in the August 29 general elections.
The deputy leader said this was just one of many plans in HRPP’s manifesto they plan to introduce each week.
Voters can expect an increase in pension payments including the disability benefit.
COLA is expected to cost more than $110 million tālā each year for five years.
