A 44–year-old man, being held without bail at the Territorial Correctional Facility, is accused of sexual charges involving his 18-year-old niece.
To protect the identity of the victim, we are not naming the defendant—who is a pastor.
He is charged with sodomy and felonious restraint.
The government alleges that on June 3, 2025, the defendant had sex with the victim without her consent.
The victim told police that she was sleeping that morning, and around 2 a.m. she felt someone fondling her breasts. She, then, tried to push the defendant off, but the suspect held her down and overpowered her. Its alleged that he continued to touch her breasts and private parts.
The victim reported the incident to the principal of her high school, who contacted police.
Investigators, after interviewing the victim, went to the defendant’s home. He initially denied the girl’s statement, but later on admitted that he had touched her sexually. The girl had been left with the pastor, while her parents had traveled to Samoa. Shei is now in the custody of social services to await her parents return from Samoa.
