The Office of Procurement has been steadily issuing advertisements for bids and Requests for Proposals for several government projects some of which have been on the drawing board for a few years. Most are ARPA funded projects which must be completed by December of next year.
Some of the projects for which bids and Requests for Proposals were advertised this month include roof repairs for Pago Pago International Airport, Arrivals and Courier Stores Building, Behavioral Health Facility, construction of the Fitiuta Medical Expansion and Evacuation Station, design of floating docks for Fagatogo and Malaloa, Architectural & Engineering Design & Build of the Dementia Friendly Facility Project and renovation of the Fagaalu Community Health Clinic.
Chief Procurement Officer Frederick Ledoux said all projects are being advertised and this is one of the requirements of the procurement law. Currently, the Office of Procurement is building a website to advertise all bidding and RFPs for government funded projects. The site will also be a repository for companies to submit required documentation and paperwork, Ledoux told KHJ News.
He added that he is bringing the same level of transparency that he initiated at the LBJ Hospital, where he was head of procurement, to the Office of Procurement.
