The Samoa Electric Power Corporation (EPC) has cancelled all electricity rationing programs for Upolu island after confirming that the five leased temporary generators were fully operational.
“With all five temporary generators now fully operational at Fuluasou, and with continued support support from Fiaga, Tanugamanono, hydro plants (Lalomauga, Ta’elefaga, Tafitoala, Alaoa, Samasoni, Fale o le fee) and solar energy sources, we now have enough generation capacity to supply power across the entire island,” said a statement from EPC.
According to the statement, the affected feeders—Palisi, Industrial, Beach Road, Lefaga, South Coast, Alaoa, East Coast and West Coast—will no longer experience ratioing.
The corporation said it will continue to monitor the situation closely and keep the country updated on any unexpected maintenance work that may occur.
