Physicians from the U.S. Navy, who were in the territory for U.S. Navy Week, Flag Day celebrations, and the opening of the Navy Recruiting Station, conducted training for the medical staff at LBJ Hospital.

Led by Dr. Kristopher Lange, the physicians provided Trauma Ultrasound Extended FAST Exam Training.

Valentina Pola said the training was specifically geared toward physicians in the Emergency Room but was open to all medical staff.

Dr. Olita Laititi, Chief of the ER, said it was a constructive and productive session. “We gained new insights into how to perform an ultrasound in a trauma setting,” she said.

“Continuity is very important, and we hope that with this new network with the U.S. Navy, we may be able to offer more training in the future.”
