
The American Samoa Chamber of Commerce has elected new board members for its 2025-2028 term. The elections took place on Friday, April 4, and new officers for the chamber were voted in:
• Ella Gurr (Chairwoman)
• Elijah Leasau (Vice Chair)
• Athena Helg (Secretary)
• Thomas Jones (Treasurer)
• Whitey Chen (Board Member)
• Brittne Fuimaono (Board Member)
• Isabel Hudson (Board Member)
• Andrew Craig (Board Member)
• Tutuila Chen (Board Member)
The newly elected officers had their first board meeting and assumed their official roles on Monday, April 7, 2025.
A press release from the chamber says it is committed to working collaboratively to strengthen the local economy, promote business development, and advocate for policies that benefit the American Samoa community. Their vision for the term ahead includes expanding networking opportunities, fostering entrepreneurship, and supporting initiatives that drive innovation and sustainable growth.
“We are excited to begin this new chapter in the Chamber’s history especially with a new pro-business administration in the ASG, Honorable Governor Pula Nikolao Pula and Lt. Governor Pulu Ae Ae Jr.,” said Ella Gurr, Chairwoman of the American Samoa Chamber of Commerce. “Together with our incredible team of officers and members, we will continue to advocate for business-friendly policies, provide valuable resources to our members, and contribute to the continued success of American Samoa’s economy.”
