Washington Commanders Quarterbacks Coach Tavita Pritchard stopped by 93 KHJ to talk about football, family, and his long-awaited return to the island.
Pritchard, who has Samoan roots through his grandfather, Caleb Pritchard, and his grandmother from the families of Aumavae, Ilaoa, Faiivae and Fuiava, said it was his first time back since he was a toddler.

(Transc.) Pritchard: Yeah. So my grandfather, Caleb Pritchard, that’s that’s my Pritchard name. And then, he married my grandmother, Taulaga Aumavae so I’m connected to the Aumavaes in Leone as well. This trip has been a long time coming. My— a lot of my family was here, because my— my uncle, was bestowed a title in Leone in December, and so there was a big saofa’i for that.
