The House of Representatives took a second vote Thursday on two director nominees, who did not pass confirmation in the House earlier: Timothy Jones as Director of the Department of Marine and Wildlife Resources and Aaron Hall as Director of the Office of Public Information/KVZK-TV.

The vote for Jones was 7 yes, and 10 no. 11 yes votes are needed for confirmation in the House, so Jones’ nomination as Director of DMWR has been rejected.

Meanwhile, the House approved Hall to serve as Director of the government owned television station by a vote of 12-5. Hall has already been approved by the Senate so he is now fully confirmed.

The House also approved Palaita Tusipasi Suiaunoa to be Director of the Department of Corrections. The vote was 14-3. The Senate has already approved Palaita, so he is cleared for the directorship.
