The Tafuna High School JROTC Robotics Team has won the championship in the 8th Brigade Robotics Competition held in San Diego over the weekend.
The team was also awarded the Excellence Award at the event, which had 30 teams from Hawaii, Saipan, Guam, and across the United States competing.
The win allows the Warriors Robotics Team to compete in the VEX Robotics World Championships to be held in Dallas, Texas in May, which is the largest robotics competition in the world.
Tricia Suesue, who was at the competition, said, earlier in the week, she learned that at their very first competition, no one spoke to them. They vowed that they would never treat anyone like that. “And today, I watched them go up to other teams, with bright smiles introducing themselves. I observed teams that were new and/or struggling approach them for help and advice, and they cheerfully assisted. I saw them support and lift each other up and work as one.”
Congratulations to the Tafuna JROTC Warriors robotics team for winning the championship and receiving the prestigious excellence award!
