A memorial service and inurnment ceremony was held yesterday in Denver, Colorado for a former Tax Office Manager, Richard Jimmerson. He passed away in May at the age of 70.
Jimmerson, a retired Lt. Colonel of the US Army and retired Internal Revenue Service Officer, was recruited by the late Falema’o Pili to be the ASG Tax Office Manager from 2013 to 2016.
Keith Gebauer, who worked with Jimmerson at Treasury, said Jimmerson made a lasting impact to the Tax Office and Treasury; and, most importantly, to the people he worked with.
He developed a strong group of friends and colleagues both in and out of government.
Even after leaving American Samoa, he kept in touch and would often follow the latest news on KHJ’s Talanei and Samoa News websites.
“I believe he was truly invested in the best interest of American Samoa and will be missed,” said Gebauer.
