In his last Christmas message, as the territory’s chief executive, Governor Lemanu Peleti Mauga says Christmas is a time to rejoice, reflect, and give thanks as we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, whose life and teachings continue to inspire love, compassion, and service to others.

“This sacred season reminds us to come together as one people, embracing unity and the spirit of giving.”

The Governor quotes from the Gospel of Luke. “Fear not for behold I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day In the city of David a Savior which is Christ the Lord.”

“These words remind us of the profound gift of Jesus Christ, whose birth brought salvation and peace to the world. As we gather with family and friends this Christmas, let us keep the true meaning of the season close to our hearts. May it inspire us to uplift those in need, strengthen our relationships, and work together to build a stronger, more united American Samoa.

“On behalf of First Lady Ella Mauga, Lieutenant Governor Talauega E. V. Ale, Good Lady Marian Ale, and our families, we extend our heartfelt wishes for a Merry Christmas and a Blessed New Year to all our people here at home and abroad. May the joy of Christ’s birth fill your hearts, and may His love and peace guide us in the year ahead.”
