Apia and other parts of the country are experiencing flooding conditions in vulnerable areas, and authorities have cautioned drivers to be careful on the roads as heavy downpour of rain continues.
Road flooding was evident along the Fugalei market area and surrounding streets early Thursday morning.
Photos on social media have also shown flooding in Matautu, Taufusi, Savalalo, Saleufi, and Moamoa.
The Samoa Land Transport Authority started making public announcements, late Wednesday afternoon, about road flooding along the east coast roads—some causing rock slides stopping traffic.
The rain does seem to have eased a little this morning, and no reports of flooding have been received from Savaii.
