Talofa Airways says it’s been a smooth transition to operating out of the regional airport at Faleolo with eight flights per day to and from American Samoa.
Founder Toleafoa Jeffrey Hunter told the Samoa Observer the new terminal was convenient for passengers in processing their departure and arrival in just a few steps.
“We haven’t had any delays or issues, our operation is running smoothly,” said Toleafoa.
“It’s convenient in terms of the process of clearing passengers and everything is close by. After they check-in, they don’t have to walk far to the boarding room like the main one.”
The $25 million tālā regional airport also has immigration and customs officers stationed at the terminal since it officially opened its doors on Monday this week.
Meanwhile, Samoa Airways has advised passengers that effective this Sunday, Samoa time, all Sunday flights to and from American Samoa will depart and arrive at the new regional airport.
All other Samoa Airways flights will continue to operate from Fagalii Airport.
