There’s excitement at Pago Pago International Airport with the landing of foreign aircraft taking leaders to the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in Samoa.

Wednesday morning an Airbus A340, which took the King of the African nation of Eswatini to Samoa, landed at Tafuna where it will be parked until the CHOGM meeting ends.

Two Gulfstream jets landed later in the day. Also here is an Airbus A321-NEO from the United Kingdom.

Two other Gulfstream aircraft arrived Monday enroute for CHOGM in Samoa.

Department of Health staff were at the airport to screen the aircraft crew.

Miss American Samoa Pauliana Angel Felise Vitale was also at the airport with brochures for the crew who will be staying at the Tradewinds Hotel. Pritchard Services is providing ground handling for the aircraft.

A senior official of Port Administration said that everything went smoothly with the arrivals and processing of the crew and they are excited to have these aircraft parked at the airport.

The planes start departing Friday with the last one leaving on Sunday.
