FFAS seeks project manager for new soccer stadium

The Football Federation of American Samoa has begun the search for a project management contractor for the Tafuna Soccer Stadium.

FFAS is seeking proposals from consulting engineering companies for the design development, and supervision, of the construction of a soccer stadium and pitch in Tafuna next to the Veterans Memorial Stadium which will be funded by the international governing body of soccer, FIFA.

According to the announcement, the facility will have a seating capacity of between 800-1000, include spaces for officials, media, communications and competitions. Also, VIP and hospitality spaces, public amenities, parking, storage, floodlights safety and security features, and a soccer pitch that meets international FIFA standards.

FFAS says a construction bid is anticipated to be launched within four weeks after the appointment of a project manager.

Companies submitting proposals must be allowed to operate in American Samoa, have at least five years of consultancy trade experience, should have completed one similar consultancy contract where the total value of the project was more than $2 million, and should have insurance coverage for a minimum of $2 million.

The deadline to submit proposals is Friday, August 23rd.
