Five high school graduates of Tongan descent will be able to continue their education at the American Samoa Community College thanks to scholarships from the Tongan Market Corporation Limited.
The five recipients are:
- Manufou Tiana Lotulelei – Tafuna High School
- Kirita Silauli’i Amituana’i – Tafuna High School
- Mele ‘Ungatea Maka’afi – Tafuna High School
- Vakeivaha Fonohema – Tafuna High School
- Elaine Lorraine Tuamoheloa – Faasao Marist
The recipients were selected based on their GPA (3.0 – 3.6) essay and personal interview.
The scholarships are $1000 each.
The Scholarship Program is supported by the Government of Tonga for students of Tongan descent.
The Steering Committee of Tongan Market Corporation Limited acknowledges and thank the American Samoa Government for the partnership in the economic development of the Farmers Market in Tafuna.
The Committees expresses special appreciation to Dr. Dottie Tuisamatatele, Assistant Director of Secondary Schools and Principal Tutuila Togilau of Tafuna High School for encouraging High School Seniors to further their education.
