Most know Tui Letuli of Fogagogo as an accomplished musician. He is, now, an author as well after releasing his first book, “The Dream Builder and the Shelfmaker”.

Tui says the book, which has taken many years to complete, is about having a dream, a vision, a goal and going after it.

“Many times we put those things on the shelf and we never get to it,” he says. The book tells his journey of inner strength and greatness found in Christ.

The inspiration to write it came when he was in Bible College and one of the assignments was to write a book. “That began sharpening my writing skills,” he said. “And I’m still sharpening them, making sure I align it with God’s will. Most importantly that he gets all the glory. As I write, I pray the Holy Spirit guides my thoughts.”

Tui said there were many road blocks to completing the book, “as there were forks in the road and detours.” There were times he lost his computer and had to start writing all over again. But, he said, “One thing for sure, I didn’t quit.”

After completing his first book Tui has been encouraging others to tell their story. “When people tell me, they’re not sure they can do it. I say don’t write it for you, write it for your children and your grandchildren. Write it for the next generation.”

He and his wife, Maile, are both authors now, and have started their own publishing company—Self Maker Publishing.

He says he’s just finished a novel and will soon publish it as well.
