Hawaiian Airlines is adding extra flights for the Christmas and New year holidays, after all.
After saying last month that it will continue its two weekly flight service on the Honolulu/Pago Pago route over the holidays, the airline said, yesterday, they will add two extra flights.
Airline spokesman Alex da Silva said the two extra flights will operate on Wednesday December 13 and January 3. Hawaiian began selling the additional flights yesterday.
Last year, Hawaiian had five extra flights for the festive season from December 14 to January 11.
The extra flights will operate at the same times as the Monday and Thursday flights.
The announcement from Hawaiian Airlines will be welcomed by travelers who have had difficulty finding seats on inbound and outbound flights over the holiday period, when students attending colleges off island come home for Christmas, and residents travel to Hawaii or the mainland to spend Christmas and New Year with relatives.
