The Israel Ambassador to Samoa has written to the Samoa National Council of Churches asking the leaders of the different denominations in Samoa to pray over the current situation in Israel.
Chairman of SNCC, Rev. Aisoli Iuli told Samoa Observer they discussed the matter with the elders and church leaders in Samoa, and decided to reach out to church communities and families to pray for peace in the world.
“I’m sure everyone is well aware of what’s happening and we need to come together and pray for our brothers and sisters in those countries.”
Rev. Iuli and several retired Methodist church ministers started the ball rolling on Sunday evening with a prayer service at the O le Ele’ele Lelei Methodist Church at Nu’u, Vaitele-uta. The NCC Chairman called on the nation to pray for peace in the world and for the conflict in Israel to end.
He asked everyone to uplift the Israel-Hamas crisis in prayers and to pray for comfort and mercy over the innocent children and people affected by the war because, one way or the other, if the war continues, it will affect all other countries in the world including Samoa.
