Tisa’s Annual Tattoo Festival is October 24-28

Tisa’s Annual Tattoo Festival is celebrating its 18th year, this month.

The annual celebration of the ancient art of Samoa is set for October 24 to the 28th at Tosa’s Barefoot Bar in Alega.

Tisa Faamuli, who founded the festival, said there’s already been a lot of inquiries about this year’s event, mainly from American Samoans who are visiting home or attending family gatherings.

She said two tufuga will be here and will be doing full body tattoos, as well as tauvae, taulima and other tattoos.

The opening ceremony is at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, October 24th, where the Tufugas of the 18th Annual Tattoo Festival 2023 will be welcomed.

Viewing of the Tattooing exhibition and tapping are between 1:00 and 3:00 PM daily.

And don’t miss out on the closing of the festival Toana’i on Sunday, October 28th.

Reservations are now open for the Samoan Feast Toana’i on Sunday, the last day of Tatau Festival.
