The first aircraft for local airline Pago Wings is set to arrive at Pago Pago International Airport at 5, this evening.

It left Hawaii around 3:30 this morning and is set to arrive at 5:30pm, according to Pago Wings President Marshall Ashley.

The plane is a brand-new Tecnam Traveller, which was manufactured in Italy.

For the past five months, it has been traveling from Europe, across the Atlantic Ocean, across North American, then across the Pacific Ocean to Hawaii.

In Hawaii, it flew several missions to provide relief to victims of the Maui wildfires.

Ashley said the aircraft was recently inspected by the FAA, and accepted for use in air charter services in Hawaii and in American Samoa.

The Traveller can carry two pilots and up to nine passengers, or the seats can be removed for cargo operations.

Pago Wings hopes to begin charter flights, operated by Pacific Air Charters Inc., in American Samoa in the very near future.

The company expresses its appreciation for the moral support and cooperation from Governor Lemanu Peleti Mauga, Port Administration, and others in ASG.
