The total amount, which was announced at a closing ceremony for the ASG fundraiser for Maui, was $243,861.
It was also announced that the proceeds of the local fundraiser will be combined with the collection from the Samoan community in Hawaii, with a match from ASG to make up $500,000 for Maui.
The Governor’s Chief of Staff Loa Tuimavave Tauapai Laupola said the donation will be presented to Hawaii Governor Josh Green depending on his availability, either this Friday or next Monday.
