
There are no changes in the ASG budget for Fiscal Year 2024 that the House of Representatives approved Monday in final reading.
All department, agency, and semi autonomous budget amounts that were submitted by the administration have been approved, intact, without any changes.
The total budget for FY2024 is $664.9 million, a reduction of 4% from the current fiscal year budget of $693.4 million.
• Local revenues total $143,000 million
• Federal grants account amount to $275.3 million
• Enterprise Funds total $236.3 million and
• Capital Improvement Projects is $10.2 million
The Senate is expected to approve its version of the budget bill, which is identical to the House bill tomorrow. The new fiscal year begins October 1st.
Tomorrow, Tuesday, the Treasurer and Budget Director will appear before the House Budget and Appropriations Committee to answer questions about the two supplemental budget bills that the administration has submitted, $22 million for FY2024 and $36 million for FY2023.
Senate Confirms Pualani P. Fui
Also on Monday, the Senate approved by unanimous vote the Governor’s nomination of Pualani Pulu Fui as a member of the Board of Higher Education. Ms. Fui has worked for the Department of Education since 2002 and will serve a four year term, replacing Justin Tuiasosopo on the Board.
