The group of LDS missionary doctors, who did an outreach mission with the Department of Health in Manu’a last week, saw first hand what is needed by the clinics in Manu’a in terms of medical equipment.
The team included a cardiologist, radiologist and orthopedic surgeon. The LDS volunteers saw patients at both the Ofu and Ta’u clinics and also conducted nutritional awareness in the schools.
At present, residents of the Manu’a islands have to come to Tutuila to get X-rays and diagnostic testing done.
Cardiologist Dr. Eric Carter and Radiologist Dr. Harold Walker commented about this after their visit to Ofu and Tau clinics.
