The Australian solo sailor attempting to become the youngest person to row across the Pacific, Tom Robinson, has a lot to write home about concerning his latest port of call, Pago Pago.

The 24-year-old lad from Brisbane says he has been enjoying the sights, people and culture of American Samoa, since arriving Sunday.

The boat he’s rowed from Peru to the South Pacific, the Maiwar, is his own creation. He was an apprentice as a boat builder in Australia, and designed and built the Maiwar for his solo journey across the Pacific Ocean. He shared his story with KHJ News’ Itagia Fia.
