
The US Commission on Civil rights has formed an American Samoa branch and two staffers are on island to gather input from members of the community on issues that they want the Commission to look at.
The Commission, which was formed in the 1950s as a result of the civil rights movement, is charged with informing the President and Congress of civil rights issues in the states and territories.
Brooke Pierry invites the public to a meeting tomorrow to discuss the Commission’s role.
