At the request of the Board of the Shipyard Services Authority, Mr. Carlos Sanchez, whose resignation was to be effective this past Monday, says that he has agreed to stay on for four weeks.

He told KHJ News, one of the main reasons why he’s agreed to the board’s request is for the sake of the workers, and to finish some repair jobs that have been lined up at the shipyard.

Asked about comments made by the Board Chairman Senator Togiola Tulafono to Samoa News that Sanchez only said that he was going to submit his resignation but nothing was official, Sanchez said that he email he sent to Togiola, which serves as his resignation, was copied to all the board members.

He also confirmed that he turned in the shipyard vehicle and keys to the office on Monday, and walked to his home in Utulei.

Sanchez said that he has agreed to stay on for four weeks and then he’s out of the shipyard for good.
