Former Miss American Samoa and, present, student at Chaminade University, Epifania Petelo, has been selected to represent Chaminade University at the Spring 2023 International Assembly for Collegiate Business Education (IACBE) Live Case Competition.

The program allows students to leverage their experience and knowledge by working cooperatively with teammates to develop an insightful solution to address a real business challenge. Entrants must deliver a five-page executive memorandum and virtual presentation for the company to review.

Epifania is in her first year at Chaminade, majoring in Business Administration with a minor in Entrepreneurship and Communication.

A graduate of Faasao Marist High School is the daughter of Mikaele and Akata Petelo of Ottoville. She is a Student Liaison officer at the American Samoa Governor’s Office in Hawai’i.

Epifania expressed her excitement for this year’s competition with hopes to gain more knowledge from this opportunity, and to be able to give back to the Samoan business community.

She commends and thanks Governor Lemanu, Lt. Governor Talauega and the American Samoa Government Hawai’i Office, under the direction of Director Tuiafono Vaiuli Sua Jr., for their support in allowing her to “balance work and academics.”

Epifania is the only person of Samoan descent chosen to represent Chaminade this year, and will be with her team in Orlando, Florida, from April 9-14, 2023.

The Governor’s Office extends good wishes to Epifania as she represents her school and her island home, American Samoa.
