It was a normal school day at Tafuna High School, though the number of students on campus was noticeably less.

Many parents decided to keep their children at home, just as a precaution following a gun threat by a male student on Facebook.

The student who had been suspended yesterday posted a photo of the suspension notice, along with a photo of himself holding a rifle and saying in Samoan, “Lets play with death.”

He was taken into custody last night and has not been released.

The Tafuna High School campus looked deserted when KHJ News paid a visit, and we had to leave promptly after a security guard said that we are prohibited from being there.

There were barely any students and Homeland Security personnel were roaming the campus with radios. A student said, there were about 7 kids in his last class; and they were on the lookout whenever an officer or someone with a radio passed by.

A teacher said that everything was ok so far. “Many students stayed home today but still a few turned up,” said the teacher.
