The Australian based Virgin Australia looks set to resume its air service to Samoa with four weekly flights starting in March this year.
Two travel websites, Aeroroutes and Executive Traveller, published this week the airline will start with two weekly flights from Brisbane to Apia from 21 March and two weekly flights from Sydney to Apia starting two days later on 23 March 2023.
The travel sites also said the airline will utilize a Boeing 737-800 but the airline has yet to issue a formal statement on the resumption of services to Samoa.
Samoa Observer reports that in June last year when the resumption of the weekly services was announced, Virgin Australia quoted “Return Economy Lite fares” for both routes, Sydney-Apia and Brisbane-Apia, at AUD$549.
It is not known if the airfares announced then will remain the same.
A Virgin Australia spokesperson told the Executive Traveller website that the resumption of their service to Samoa will give holiday makers a lot of options.
“The addition of Samoa and Vanuatu to Virgin Australia’s network will give holiday makers and those looking to reconnect with family and friends a greater choice of Pacific Island destinations,” the spokesperson said.
