The curator of the Oceania Collection at the Peabody Museum at Harvard University is interested in meeting descendants of Tuimanu’a Elisara and Mataafa Iosefa, during her visit here and in Samoa.

Dr. Ingrid Ahlgren looks after 20,000 pieces from Oceania, including a large number from Samoa.

At a presentation at the American Samoa Community College (ASCC) yesterday, Dr. Ahlgren showed photos of the artifacts from the Samoa islands including fine mats, siapo, paopao, head rest or ali and other artifacts.

Some of the pieces have connections to Tuimanu’a and Mataafa, and the curator wants to show photos of them to descendants.
