Director of Homeland Security, Samana Semo Veavea, has welcomed offers of assistance from the investor group from South Korea and the United states that wraps up their visit to the territory, tonight.

An area that a company in the group has discussed with the Department of Homeland Security is to apply for federal grants to establish business that deal in intel.

Samana says, the group had IT expertise which would help with solving cyber bullying cases affecting local residents.

He says, there have been a few cyber bullying cases reported to their office and he was very interested in seeing how his department can receive assistance in solving such cases.

Samana, who recently attended a regional law enforcement conference in Apia, said that he was grateful for the chance to establish contact with the Transnational Crime Unit and other law enforcement networks in the region.

He said, the sharing of intelligence is vital in combating rising organized crime in the Pacific islands.

The network utilizes multi-agency collaboration and a regional approach to combat transnational crime. It has been operating since 2002 with a base in Apia.
