As a result of her increased seniority Congresswoman Uifa’atali Amata is moving to new offices on Capitol Hill. KHJ News Washington, DC correspondent Matt Kaye reports.

Uifa’atali is a member of the class of 2014 and after her reelection this month, is now in her fifth term.

Her new seniority allows the Congresswoman to claim better office space, moving from the room 1339 in the House Longworth Office Building to a ground level office in the Rayburn Building.

The Rayburn office is being vacated by senior 9 term Congressman and expected incoming chair of the House Foreign Affairs Committee Michael McCaul.

Uifaatali’s new offices, composed of three main rooms, have more area than the old offices, while the Congresswoman’s own room, itself is larger.

The new office is also near the Independence Avenue entrance to the Rayburn building, which is directly across from the Capitol building.

The picturesque Rayburn interior courtyard is on the other side of her new offices.

The Congresswoman’s staff says the move will happen this month, but it will take a while to accomplish.

UIfaatali’s current office has many pictures and artwork that will need to be moved, so the Rayburn offices will have the same feel of American Samoa.

The one downside of the move—Amata will have to walk further to the Natural Resources and Veterans Affairs Committees in the Longworth and Cannon Buildings.
