The finale of the Punialava’a corporate table concert at Lee Auditorium Wednesday night. The family band coming back on stage for one last number after the capacity crowd chanted “more more.”
Rev. Lale Peteru, wife Vini and their sons and daughter, mesmerized the crowd with their playlist of mostly old songs that had the crowd singing and swaying from side to side, with their hands in the air.
It was truly an evening for making memories, the goal of the Agency for Better Living Endeavors (ABLE) in bringing the famous group here for Alzheimer’s Awareness Month.
There was a lot of laughter too, as Vini explained the origins of each song, showing up her husband’s “wandering” days as a young musician before they met, got married, then entered church ministry.
She said, American Samoa would always be special as the Rainmaker Hotel was where she met her husband.
Lt. Governor Talauega Eleasalo Ale spoke at the start of the concert, after an opening prayer by Rev. Evagelia Ioane.
ABLE and ASTCA, the main sponsor, were praised for a well-orchestrated an enjoyable evening…everything from the music, to the food, service and ambience.
This is how the crowd showed their appreciation.
