Governor Lemanu Peleti Mauga has congratulated the US Marine Corps on its 247th birthday today.
“Having taken part in nearly every United States conflict, the Marine Corps has defended our great Nation since its inception. Today, The United State Marine Corps celebrates 247 years of warfighting excellence and dedicated service,” said the Governor.
“The Marine Corps Birthday is an annual commemoration of all that the Marines hold sacred—bonds of brotherhood, proud traditions of service, and an illustrious history and enduring legacy defined by honor, courage and commitment.
“On behalf of Lieutenant Governor Talauega and our families, we celebrate the service, sacrifice and proud traditions of the “Devil Dogs.” We honor the Marine Corps as protectors of our great Nation and thank all Marines, both past and present, for their enduring commitment to defend our nation with unwavering resolve.
