The Election Office registered about 100 voters Tuesday, the deadline for voter registration for the midterm election just three weeks away.
Deputy Election Officer Fiti Tavai says after the deadline closed at 4:30 pm, their staff worked until 9:00 pm to input all the names of registered voters so voter rolls would be ready for candidates running in the Nov 8 elections.
The total number of registered voters for the 2022 midterm election is 14,312.
Tavai says the numbers are on par with previous voter registration for a mid term election, which is far less than numbers for a gubernatorial election year.
