The new wholesale price list for fuel which goes into effect August 15 shows some reduction in prices at the pump. In fact all of the main petroleum products show a drop in prices.

Unleaded drops 75 cents a gallon, from $5.09 to $4.33 a gallon.

Land diesel and marine diesel drop 73 cents a gallon, land diesel was $5.64 but will be $4.91 per gallon, marine diesel drops from $5.21 to $4.47.

The wholesale price of kerosene drops 68 cents from $5.28 to $4.59 a gallon.

Lisa Tuatoo, Director of the ASG Office that oversees fuel prices, Office of Disaster Assistance of Petroleum Management says, “Although the MAP for gas is seeing a decrease in wholesale prices, there still may be some higher prices at the gas stations because fuel suppliers may still have the higher priced fuel in their tanks,”

She said, “It is a welcome relief for our people in the months ahead as we remain hopeful for gas prices to continue to decrease but at the same time, business owners need to make some profit too.”
