RPAS Chairman sounds alarm bells about China

The Chairman of the Republican Party of American Samoa, Taulapapa Will Sword was sounding alarm bells this week in Chicago at the 2022 Republican National Committee Spring Meeting.

Speaking to delegates from across the nation, Taulapapa raised the alarm about the People’s Republic of China’s looming influence on American Samoa’s neighbors.

The RPAS Chairman suggested that America’s efforts in outreach to neighboring Samoa was borne out of desperation.

Sword’s comments came on the heels of yesterday’s visit where Deputy State Secretary Wendy Sherman flew to Apia to meet with Samoa’s Prime Minister Fiame Naomi Mataafa.

Taulapapa concluded by saying that the US needs to do more to help curb China’s expansion in the Pacific.
