The Iakopo team is preparing for their next and final event this week, at the Pacific Mini Games in Saipan.
Yesterday, they competed in the 100m. Stanley Iakopo, who is almost 50, placed 5th out 6 runners, while Filomenaleonisa Iakopo, aged 16, came in 4th out of 7. Filomenaleonisa posted a time of 13.49 seconds, and running against headwinds of 1.5 mph. She was a few milliseconds shy from making the Finals.
Filomenaleonisa is the youngest 100 meter sprinter athlete out of 14 Women athletes.
Their next event will be on [our] Thursday, where they will both compete in the 200 meter sprints.
